Stuart Low

Stuart is an artist and maker of stained glass.  He designs and makes windows to commission for churches and secular buildings. He also makes glass on a more intimate scale which he sells through a number of galleries. This work reflects his observations of and interactions with nature. It derives from places he visits, walks, goes to for space and reflection or enjoys nurturing through planting and growing things. These influences are recorded and explored on location in his studio using paint, paper and collage and in turn become the source from which he develops working drawings for his stained glass. As a maker and glass painter Stuart holds a respect for the traditional skills of the craft and as an artist he looks to bring a unique and contemporary spirit to the glass he chooses to make.
