Sonia Rollo

Sonia studied at Glasgow University, graduating with a BSc in Agricultural Botany. She worked in scientific publishing as an Editor of Chemoreception Abstracts. In 1988 she went on to study Print-making at Morley College. She is a founding member of Half Moon Printmakers, a member of the cooperatives Southbank Printmakers and Greenwich Printmakers, and was Vice-President of the Printmakers’ Council.

Her interest in animals started in childhood with a pig called Hilary, geese called Charlie and Cassandra, and a mongrel, Pearl. Her training as a biologist meant observing and drawing plants and animals to aid her understanding. Now she has fun with her drawings and makes them into etchings. She has exhibited her work throughout London and England including the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition and the International Small Print Biennale in Morley College, London, as well as at Young Masters in the USA.
