2023

 

1st to 30th June - our featured artist for June is Beverley Johnson. Beverley lives and works in Aylesford and has a degree in art history. A linocutting course and the acquisition of an original 1860 Albion printing press proved to be turning points from which her printmaking practice has developed and flourished. She has done several workshops with renowned artist Hugh Ribbans who said to us “Bev doesn’t need anything more from me, she’s a natural.” Her prints are often based in nature and have a graphic, Japanese inspired feel to them. The work is so striking and looks just fantastic en masse.

 

Also throughout June we are doing a pop up gallery in Faversham. We have taken over a lovely space called One Gatefield set in a charming lane just off Preston Street. The address is Gatefield Lane, Faversham ME13 8NX and we will be open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 10am-3pm. If you are in the area, please do pop in and say hello.

29th & 30th July. Please join us for Pimm's to celebrate the start of our summer show. Continues until 11th September.

 

29th September. Macmillan Coffee Morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Last September we raised an astonishing £900, so we thought we'd do it all over again. Please join us from 10.30am for coffee/tea/buns and if you'd like to bring a little sweet something with you, well that would be the icing on the cake, thank you.

21st October to 17th November. Home Grown. We are lucky to have a wealth of talent on our doorstep, so we are delighted to be hosting an exhibition showcasing work by artists who live and work in close proximity to our gallery in Smarden. Private View and drinks evening Friday 27th October, 6pm to 8.30pm. Click here to see whose work will be on display.

 

24th & 25th November. Christmas Weekend. Please join us for mulled wine and nibbles to celebrate all things festive at the gallery.

The gallery always has a wonderful display of paintings, prints, ceramics, jewellery, crafts and cards.

2022

 

11th June to 10th July - Joel Arnstein: Something Different. We are delighted to be handing the gallery over to our friend, landlord and West End House founder for a show of his paintings and prints as he celebrates his 70th birthday. Private View 10th June 6.30-8.30pm.

 

30th & 31st July. Please join us for Pimm's to celebrate the start of our summer show. Continues until 17th September.

24th September to 7th November. Autumn Leaves. A collection of new work celebrating the season.

Private View Friday 23rd September, 6-8pm.

3rd & 4th December. Christmas Weekend. Please join us for mulled wine and festive nibbles to celebrate the start of our Christmas show.
