Katie Brinsley

Katie graduated from Brighton University in 2004 with a BA (Hons) in 3D Crafts, specialising in ceramics. For the past 6 years she has been designing and making her own range of tableware and accessories from her studio in Hawkhurst. Over this period she has successfully sold her work through outlets in England and at local exhibitions. She has also had her work featured in Homes & Gardens, Living etc, Elle Decoration and in Country Living Magazine, as well featuring on the front cover of the Observer Food Monthly.

Katie takes inspiration from traditional and functional forms, then adds an individual slant of playful humour. Her tableware is cast in plaster moulds using slip (liquid clay). She makes her moulds from objects that she has created or found paying attention to detail yet keeping the character of the original.
